Brussels 28.01.2024 Today in Louvre Museum, central Paris, vandals have thrown pumpkin soup at Leonardo da Vinci masterpiece, calling for the right to “healthy and sustainable food”. The brutal attack on the most famous artwork by two promoters of the healthy food caused indignation not only of art lovers.

The inclination of anarchy typical for the ecological movements young followers is a highly risky strategy in the year of the European elections. The action of an attempted destruction of the gem of the culture has provoked a massive set back in social media, where many expressed strongest condemnation of vandalism.
The video showing two female vandals wearing T-shirts that read “food counterattack” throwing the soup on to Mona Lisa has received highly negative reactions from all over the world, uniting civilized part of humanity against anarchists.
While standing in front of the Mona Lisa spatted with pumpkin flesh, they screamed: “What is more important? Art or the right to healthy and sustainable food?”
Clearly the most important are laws against vandals, and political anarchists preventing them to destroy public property in name of a cause, or agenda imposed with such a brutality.
Rachida Dati, France’s Minister for Culture, said “no cause” could justify the Mona Lisa being targeted.”Like our heritage [the painting] belongs to future generations,” she said on X.
The Louvre administration said that members of Riposte Alimentaire, which it described as an environmental movement, sprayed pumpkin soup on the painting at around 10:00 local time (09:00 GMT), and that there was no damage to the painting itself. The Salle des Etats space, where the masterpiece is displayed, was evacuated, and reopened to visitors at 11:30. “The museum will lodge a complaint,” the administration added.
