The Letter evoking Article 50 is handed personally by the UK ambassador Sir Tim Barrow (picutred) to the president of the European Council Donald Tusk. The moment the letter is delivered the two years period negotiations count-down begins. With or without a deal the UK will cancel its membership in the European projet after more than half-a-century relationship.
