Brussels 15.06.2025 Senior Jewish Leaders Portrayed as “Lobbyists for Genocide” on posters across Brussels. Portraits of senior officials of the European Jewish Association (https://ejassociation.eu/) have been plastered across Brussels, accused of being “lobbyists for genocide”.
On June 13 the residents of Brussels were confronted with a shocking and deeply disturbing sight: the faces of European Jewish Association (EJA) Chairman Rabbi Menachem Margolin, Vice Chairman Alex Benjamin, and Director of EU Relations Ruth Isaac appeared on posters hung throughout the city just meters from the European Union institutions at Schuman square alongside the inciting and defamatory accusation: “Lobbyists for Genocide.”
Reacting upon the despicable action of the anonyms activists, the EJA Chairman Rabbi Menachem Margolin said:
“This is a meticulously orchestrated campaign aimed at delegitimizing the Jewish community of Europe, branding it with a severe moral stain, and turning it into an easy target for both political and physical attacks. When your photo is plastered across the capital of Europe under the label ‘genocidal,’ you are not being criticized—you are being threatened, vilified, and marked. This is not discourse; it is dangerous persecution. It is a chilling echo of the darkest chapters from which Europe claims to have learned.”

Rabbi Margolin further added: “The fact that, precisely because of the growing impact of our work at the European Jewish Association, we have become a target for radical pro-Palestinian actors only strengthens our resolve and sense of mission. Attempts to intimidate us with slander, threats, and incitement will fail. We will continue to expose the hypocrisy of those who scream ‘freedom’ while meaning the destruction of the Jewish state. We will stand on the front lines against the forces of evil that support terror. In the face of the ignorance of so-called ‘useful idiots’—those who, out of dangerous naïveté and lack of understanding, align themselves with hatred — we will continue to raise a clear, firm, and unwavering voice for truth, justice, and the defense of democratic values.”

The EJA has issued an urgent appeal to the Belgian government, senior EU officials, and law enforcement authorities, calling for immediate and uncompromising action:
The immediate removal of all posters across Brussels.
The launch of a thorough and comprehensive criminal investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible for the campaign.
A clear, public, and unequivocal condemnation by the Belgian government and EU institutions of this incitement.
A significant reinforcement of protection and security measures for the targeted EJA leaders, Jewish institutions, and Jewish communities across Europe.
The European Jewish Association (EJA) is one of the leading organizations representing Jewish interests at the European level. Based in Brussels, the EJA works to strengthen Jewish identity, defend religious freedom, and promote the security and well-being of Jewish communities throughout Europe.
