Brussels 01.08.2026 Today 22 from 26 EU leaders, strating with the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni united in sharp criticism against the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s on his migration policies, blaming him the Ceuta huimanitarian crisis.

After scarp criticism of President Trump for refusal to reserve 5% of natioanl budget to defense, purchasing the U.S. weapons, Sanchez became an ‘underdog’ of the EU, a target of those who are eager to show loyalty to the 47th inhabitant of the White House. The next stage was the refusal of the U.S. aviation at Spanish military bases to conduct war against Iran. One more point is an active support of Gaza by the Spanish Socialists, and Progressives.

The prime ministers of 22 out of 27 EU member states have written a joint letter to the EU, demanding an emergency summit over the invasion of illegal migrants in Ceuta.
They are outraged by the recent ruling of the Spanish Supreme Court:

The increasingly independent Sánchez responded to the EU members, blaming them to be “selfish” in face of the “unlawful” and sudden influx of some 50,000 unauthorized migrants from Morocco into the Spanish exclave of Ceuta in North Africa.
While many of those migrants have now returned to Morocco, and none crossed into Spain mainland, the 22 leaders raised “serious concern” over the threat to the EU’s frontier, and regarded Sánchez’s move to grant legal status to up to 1.2 million unauthorized migrants as a “pull factor” that provoked the Ceuta crisis.
